RULES:

SCORE/POINTS:

FORMAT:

Meaning, there will be an initial “All In” Bracket. The winners from that bracket will move to a “Winner                  Bracket” and the rest to a “Losers Bracket”. This allows for awards to be given to 2 players per League Match.

Putters Challenge

This Flight Club format is a singles stroke format that allows players to only use putters as their legal discs. Discs must be deemed putters by the manufacturer. A player can use as many putters as they want. Players can carry all discs during the match as normal. Any player may question a disc used in a match to be a legal putter. The group then decides if the disc is legal or not. Any player caught throwing an illegal disc will be warned and must re-throw. Any subsequent infractions will result in a re-throw with a legal disc and 1 stroke penalty.

If a player loses all putters during a round, that player must forfeit the round due to lack of proper equipment.

Scoring will be done as a normal singles stroke match. Points will be awarded on a per card basis as follows: 1st place player will receive 9 points, 2nd place 6 points, and 3rd place 3 points.

The purpose of this format is to show players what they are capable of when using a putter as an approach or driver disc. It also helps players develop focus on shots and concentrate of disc grip and control. Players will often find new flight paths for courses after playing the entire course with putters.

Split Doubles

Flight Club’s version of a split doubles format is a way for players to earn points and play in a group of players with matching stroke averages while having the aid of a teammate playing in their own separate group.

Teams are created based on Flight Club stroke averages for players. Players with highest stroke averages are teamed with players of lowest stroke averages. This allows for the fairly matched teams throughout the field. This format also allows for a doubles match to be played and still have players record a singles score to help their Flight Club average.

Scoring during play is the same as normal singles stroke play. The scorecards are the same cards used for singles stroke play and all rules and procedures are the same.

At the end of the round, player’s scores are recorded, their calculated handicaps are applied to their individual scores, and the 2 player’s scores are added together. This gives a total team score.

The top 3rd teams in the field are awarded cash or prizes. Points are awarded on a per card basis and a team basis.

Per Card: The top player on each card is awarded 9 points, the 2nd player 6 points, and the 3rd place player 3 points.

Per Team: Each player on a team that cashes out in the field will receive 6 additional points.

Cali Double

The Flight Club version of this format is the same as a singles stroke match in both rules and procedures with 1 exception, each player gets 1 extra throw per hole. This extra throw can be any throw including a putt or drive.

Cards are arranged based on players of similar stroke averages. This allows for fair play and a chance for players to compete with a chance to win.

Points are awarded as follows on a per card basis: 9 points to 1st place player, 6 points to 2nd, and 3 points to 3rd.

This format allows players a second shot at a throw in case of an error. It also will allow a try at an alternate path or shot style they may not normally use in competition.

3 Disc Challenge

Flight Club’s 3 disc challenge follows the normal rules and procedures of normal stroke play singles disc golf in rules and scoring with the exception of the discs used.

A player chooses 3 discs before starting a match. They can be any 3 discs that can be normally used for play. These discs can be carried with all of the other discs or alone. If carried in a bag with all other discs, you must show each player in your group what 3 discs you will be playing with.   At any time during the round a player may question a disc you are throwing to be legal. The group then decides if the disc is a declared challenge disc. Using the wrong disc will result in a warning and a re-throw with a legal disc. Subsequent infractions will result in re-throws with legal discs plus a 1 stroke penalty.

No discs can be substituted once the round begins. If a player loses a disc during the round, he/she must play the round with the 2 remaining discs.

Points are awarded on a per card basis as follows: 1st Place get 9 points, 2nd place gets 6 points, and 3rd place gets 3 points.

The purpose of this format is to take the burden of choosing from a selection of discs that may be too broad and allows them to focus on the disc they chose. This will allow a player to learn how their 3 discs work on all holes and teach fundamentals of disc control instead of having a disc for each home course hole.
